My Walk With An Angel - Jack Villari

I want to share another dream I had sometime back. This dream didn’t have anything to do with my daughter but the message of this dream was so powerful I feel compelled to share it as words of hope for all who read this.  If we could name our dreams, I would simply call this “My Walk with an Angel.”

My wife and children had gone away for the weekend. It was a Friday evening in August, and we were smack in the middle of the monsoon season in Arizona. Right before I fell asleep on the living room floor, I was listening to the rumbling of thunder and enjoying the lightening show. Next thing I remember I was walking through a wooded forest, rich in greenery, a beautiful place. There was someone walking along side of me. I turned and was immediately stunned by the beauty of this individual. I knew he wasn’t God but there was something about this being that made me stop dead in my tracks. I could see deep into his spirit. He was not only beautiful on the outside, but pure, clean, immaculate on the inside. I started shaking my head and saying, “It isn’t fair, it just isn’t fair”. He smiled at me and asked “What isn’t fair? I answered, “It isn’t fair that God would create such a beautiful being so far above anything I could relate to or ever hope to be.” Once again he smiled and said, “Did you know you are even more special to God?” I laughed and shook my head saying, “How can that be? How can that possibly be with all my faults, sins, and imperfections? He went on to tell me that he was an Angel created long ago to keep God company. He said the reason I was special was because God has to wait for me.

I immediately awoke with this dream etched into my mind. It was so real. I thought about this for quite some time and eventually understood the meaning of this dream. Our Lord is just as anxious to be with us as we are to be with Him.  He is excited and can’t wait for us to join Him, but wait He must. We are all special to God because he waits for each and every one of us. Remember that the next time you feel bad about yourself, you are SPECIAL to God, He waits for you.
